Imprecise parsing of texels can shift texture coordinates, causing seams or misaligned textures on the final model.
Since SFM is built on the Source Engine, it can natively work with VVD files. You can load a model in SFM and then use export scripts to convert it to OBJ. This method can be useful for specific workflows but is more complex and requires scripting knowledge.
: Ensure the .mdl , .vvd , and .vtx files are in the same folder during decompilation. If the .vvd is missing or in the wrong directory, the model will fail to load or appear as a "mess of random triangles".
